Thanksgiving Reflection
As Thanksgiving and the holiday season approach, I find myself reflecting on where I am in life and where I'm headed. Over the years, I've spent the holidays with various friends and family — and sometimes on my own. For me, the season begins with remembering past gatherings and the people I shared them with. Fond memories rise to the surface, and I ride that wave of nostalgia with gratitude for all I've experienced.
From a quantum physics perspective, we attract what we appreciate. Consider a close friendship: when we consistently feel and express gratitude for it, we energetically align with that experience and anchor it in our reality. The opposite is also true. When we stop appreciating a relationship, it gradually loses resonance in our lives and fades from our daily experience.
This principle extends beyond what we have — it applies equally to what we have been spared. Just as gratitude sustains the positive experiences in our lives, appreciating the absence of hardship helps keep it at bay. For instance, actively feeling grateful for good health, or for never having faced a life-threatening illness, aligns you energetically with continued wellness. Because we are, at our core, composed of energy, our thoughts and feelings shape the reality we experience.
So regardless of where or with whom I spend the holidays, my focus is on gratitude — not as a passing thought, but as an embodied practice. I aim to truly feel appreciation for what I'm experiencing now, what I've experienced in the past, and what I've been fortunate enough to avoid. Life brings both highs and lows, but as I grow more aware of how my thoughts and feelings shape my circumstances, I'm reminded that I'm not only responsible for my reality — I'm empowered to design it.
Be grateful for what you have and for what you have not experienced, and watch your life shift by your design.
Happy Holidays!
